Graham Codd BVSc BSc CertSAS MRCVS

Veterinary Surgeon, Practice Principal

 

Graham has a degree in Zoology from Hull University, as well as a Veterinary degree from Liverpool University. He graduated from Liverpool in 1990. His main interests are surgery (particularly orthopaedics and emergency surgery) and animal welfare. He holds the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons post-graduate Certificate in Small Animal Surgery. He is a keen advocate for animal welfare and has appeared in court as an expert witness on numerous occasions in cruelty cases brought by the RSPCA and the Local Authority.

Caroline Stirk BVetMed (Hons) CertAVP(GSAS) MRCVS

Veterinary Surgeon

 

Caroline graduated from the Royal Veterinary College, University of London, in 2006 and started working at Sage in August 2006. She has a particular interest in surgery, both soft tissue and orthopaedics. She completed the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons post-graduate Certificate in Advanced Veterinary Practice (Small Animal Surgery) in December 2013. Caroline is currently on maternity leave.

Irene Tejera Hernanz MRCVS

Veterinary Surgeon

 

Irene graduated in 2014 from the University of Leon in Spain. She moved to England the same year to work in a small animal practice in Derby. Her main interest is internal medicine. Irene joined Sage in May 2016.

David Burgham RVN

Clinical and Administrative Manager and Head Veterinary Nurse

 

David joined Sage in September 2015. He qualified as a Veterinary Nurse from the College of Animal Welfare in Potters Bar, Hertfordshire, in 2014. He has had a wide range of experience working as a Veterinary Nurse from first opinion practice to emergency out of hours work. His main interests are emergency and critical care, inpatient medical care, dentistry and nurse consultations. He is a Clinical Coach so will be assisting the student Veterinary Nurses with their training whilst at the practice.

Jenni Scrimshaw RVN

Veterinary Nurse

 

Jenni joined Sage in August 2006. She qualified as a veterinary nurse in April 2011. Her interests include the care of rabbits and small furries, medicine and laboratory work.

Catherine has been working at Sage since November 2004.

Desmond has been with Sage since December 1998. He comes from a farming background.

Elaine Hemingway DipAVN (Surgical) RVN

Veterinary Nurse

 

Elaine has been with Sage since January 1997 and qualified as a veterinary nurse in August 1999. She has a keen interest in surgical nursing and completed her Diploma in April 2002. Her other interests include emergency and critical care, radiography and behaviour. Elaine was Head Nurse at Sage for many years but undertook semi-retirement in September 2015 and now works part time.

 

 

Abbie Stenning

Abbie has been working at Sage since September 2013. She starts her nurse training in April 2017 . Her main interest is feline medicine.

Raquel graduated in 2014 from the University of Leon in Spain. She then did a years internship in small animal surgery at the University of Turin in Italy. Raquel then moved to England and joined Sage in August 2016. Raquel has a particular interest in small animal surgery and orthopaedics.
